My NEW cell phone

I had told you about my cell phone, right? Where were we? I guess I told you the story up to the point where I fixed the cell phone doing acrobatic moves and stuff.
In my recent trip to New York, my poor phone started nagging again and since I couldn't do anything for her she died after a long illness.

Now here I am mourning for her and paying Verizon $50 a month for the cell phone I don't have.

I called them today and said: Look, my phone has broken in two pieces and it was not my fault!!! You have two options. Either let me stop payments until the plan is over or authorize me for early renewal. (For those of you who don't know, when you renew your plan, you can get the phone with discounted price. )

I guess the lady in the customer service was either too nice or I frightened her or something because she said that she authorized me for early renewal and I get a $100 discount on the plan (Just like their other customers who are renewing now)

So, happy koozeh went downtown to find a descent phone.

First thing you would notice was that all the phones had like $50 to $80 rebates.
So you would have to pay that now and they will send you the rebate later (and I have one experience that I bought something from best buy and they didn't send me the rebate)
Anyhow, so I am looking at the phones and I think I like one of them. The price tag says $120 with $50 rebate. I ask the lady how does this work. Since 129-50 rebate- 100 discount is actually negative. She says:" yeah, on this special cell phone we give you only part of that $100 discount".
Then I like this other phone and I ask questions ... Finally I say that I want the one year plan by the way not the two year plan. She says that that the price of the phone will be $50 higher! The prices they had up there was based on two-year plan. So I am doing little calculation and suddenly she adds "And oh by the way that $100 discount is only for the 2 year plan too"

Great, so they don't give me discount for the $100 and increase the price by $50!!!
On the other hand if I choose to terminate my service before the two-year comes, I would have to pay Verizon $175!!!

So I thought I better keep my $150 today and if I needed to I will pay $175 later!!!
Now I want to choose a plan. They don't have anything for less than 300 minutes airtime and unlimited nights and weekends. I swear I use only 100, Max!!!
So I have to get that plan too!

Finally, I paid $120 to the store in the hope of getting my $70 rebate and came out!

Funny Joke!

Dear Tech Support:
Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 10.3, Football 5.0, Hunting and Fishing 7.5, and Racing 3.6 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0. Please help!
Thanks,
A Troubled User.

REPLY:
Dear Troubled User:
This is a very common problem that men complain about. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0. It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony/Child Support." I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation. The best course of action is to enter the command C: \ APOLOGIZE. Because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway. Wife 1.0 is a great! program, but it tends to be very high maintenance. Wife1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2. However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5.

The NYC trip

I had an awesome time in NYC :)

Everything was perfect: the weather, the food and the sightseeing :)

I visited the twin towers for which I put the pictures in the photo blog.
I saw the Bombay Dreams show from the Broadway.
I saw the Cinderella ballet in Lincoln Center.
I had the best chocolate ever in la maison du chocolat.
I had the best cappuccino of my life.
I had the best almond creme caramel that you can possibly think of!
I had the worst Persian food ever!

So these are the pictures: one, two, three, four, five, world trade center pics

The picture with the naked woman is funny in the sense that they use sex for everything in this country. Like they put a huge picture of the beautiful naked body of this woman on the wall and there is no way that the visitor would notice the sneakers she has on!

Both Bombay Dreams and Cindrella were spectacular. I strongly recommend both. :) It was my first time being to a ballet and I really liked it. It is amazing to see all sorts of moves that the dancers are able to perform with their bodies :)

Bombay Dreams was a very happy musical with all the features of Indian movies (at least the one I have seen).
There was this poor boy named Akaash who got into Bollywood (their Hollywood) and to maintain his status he said that he doesn't know his family anymore. So the family was going through misery and stuff  up until the last moment that Akaash realized that he was losing his morality and the girl he loved (Pyra) . Meanwhile his best friend died because of the evil deed of the evil person in the show who were to be the future husband of Pyra and of course and Pyra's father was a greedy person who knew nothing but money and power.
In the end, Akash saved his people from misery and married Pyra :)
All of this happend in two hours of beautiful music and dances :)

By the way, the comments are gone because I wanted to make the text left-aligned again. I was using the same account for all my blogs and since Persian is right-aligned and English is left-aligned, there was always one in trouble. So I changed the account for photo and English blogs so that they become left-aligned. I have all of your comments saved somewhere else. I just don't know how to import them here again.

Scuba Diving-2

I debugged my code and submitted the paper that had to be built up based on the results 3 o'clock in the morning today :)
So I feel sort of sleepy but I am happy that it is over, at least for now.
I went to the first session of Scuba diving on Saturday. Well, the third session really but the first under water. That first breath under water was really strange :)
I put the wet suit, the weights, the BCD, the tank, the fins, the mask and the snorkle on and went under water. It was very VERY weird at first trying to breathe from the mouth and exhale from the mouth. But the under water, oh my god it was so cool! Although it was just the pool, it was still enjoyable. The only problem for me was that when I went a little bit down, my ears started hurting. Then I had to ascend a little bit and then descend again.
For today I have to do two chapters again and we will take quizzes too. Next time we go in the water is next Saturday. Then the following week we will go to the lake. It should be pretty exciting. I suspect that the water in the lake is pretty cold though.
Ok, I better get back to work now.
Oh, by the way look at this picture:
I took it from scubadiving.com. It could be me in the near future!

...

I feel so tired today. I was coding (computer) and I found an error. The code is very long (over 2600 lines). I have to finish debugging during the weekend.
Oh God, I am really tired. :(

love-2

My friend, Shahab, sent me this excellent document of what people have said throughout the history about love.
Enjoy!

Love is eternal -- the aspect may change, but not the essence There is the same difference in a person before and after he is in love as there is in an unlighted lamp and one that is burning. The lamp was there and was a good lamp, but now it is shedding light too, and that is its real function. And love makes one calmer about many things, and that way, one is more fit for one's work.
--Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890)

Love built on beauty, soon as beauty, dies.
--John Donne

It is wrong to think that love comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created for years or even generations
--Kahlil Gibran

Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.
--Mozart

I love Mickey Mouse more than any woman I have ever known.
--Walt Disney

Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illumines it
--Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968)

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall - think of it, ALWAYS.
--Mahatma Gandhi

A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path
--Agatha Christie (1890 - 1976)

The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.
--Henry Ward Beecher

The story of a love is not important - what is important is that one is capable of love. It is perhaps the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity.
--Helen Hayes

If you would be loved, love and be lovable.
--Benjamin Franklin

Love is not something you feel. It's something you do.
--David Wilkerson

When you have once seen the glow of happiness on the face of a beloved person, you know that a man can have no vocation but to awaken that light on the faces surrounding him. In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
--Albert Camus (1913-1960)

Relationships are like Rome. Difficult to start out, incredible during the prosperity of the 'Golden Age', and unbearable during the fall. Then, a new kingdom will come along and the whole process will repeat itself until you come across a kingdom like Egypt...that thrives, and continues to flourish. This kingdom will become your best friend, your soulmate, and your love.
--Helen Keller

He then adds:

These were some quotes form famous people about LOVE.
I’m not completely agreed with all of them, but as you can see, we have different definitions, but I think it is interesting to see, LOVE definition from different points of view.
Last night, I attended to a talk given by some fellow with the title of “Eblise Ashegh”, which means “LOVER SATAN” that was amazing talk. It was concluded that Satan is fallen in love with god and that’s why he/she accepted this rule, to be devil.
I am going to ask him to write his talk and I will post it to you as soon as he finishes the writing.

Love!

...I have a question: How do you define love?

For me love is just extended friendship. You love someone when in his/her presence you can be yourself and you like being yourself. If I love someone, I should be able to talk to them openly, like a friend. And love is mututal respect. I don't believe in love in first sight at all. For me, you don't fall with someone in 2 seconds or even one month. You fall in love over the years. It is the matter of how much you share of yourself.

I guess we can continue this discussion in the comments part :)

unfortunately...

This is terrible. There should be some way to stop all this. The golden key is education I believe. The government of Iran is by far among the worst in the world. It is terrible.
